What is the Intellectual Property and Media ADR Group?

We are a group of barristers practising in the fields of intellectual property and media law who have all undertaken professional training and become accredited as mediators. The Group comprises Full Members who have experience of at least 4 mediations, acting as mediator or assistant mediator, and Associate Members who have less experience. In addition, many Members also have experience acting as Counsel in mediations. Most if not all of the Full Members and Associate Members are members of professional alternative dispute resolution groups such as CEDR, ADR Chambers, and ACI; and of the Civil Mediation Council. Some of our members also have experience acting as arbitrators in intellectual property matters.

The aim of the Group is to present to legal professionals (Solicitors, Patent and Trade Mark attorneys and in-house lawyers) a directory of professional specialist mediators and arbitrators, with particular experience of applying their expertise in intellectual property and media disputes to mediation and arbitration.

Through its Terms of Membership the Group also seeks to maintain standards of good mediation practice amongst its members and to develop mediation in the fields of intellectual property and media law. Members have all agreed to adhere to the European Code of Conduct for Mediators.
