Arranging a Mediation
We invite all potential clients to consider
the following non-exhaustive list of issues when choosing your
mediator:-
 |
The relevant experience of the mediator
|
 |
The acceptability of a chosen mediator to all
parties |
 |
The availability of the mediator for the
mediation date |
 |
The mediation agreement |
Visit our
"People" section to obtain the mediation profiles
and contact details for our Members. Fees should be discussed with
individual Members or their clerks. The mediation will be carried
out pursuant to a simple contract between the mediator and the
parties, which would deal with such matters as fees, confidentiality and exchange of documents and case
summaries.
All Members welcome contact to discuss the specific requirements of
any potential mediation work, and it is important to check that
there are no conflicts or other reasons against engaging a
particular Member as a mediator.
In addition, each Member will usually endeavour to encourage the use
of an Associate Member as an assistant in mediations where this is
appropriate. It is normal practice for any assistant to assist free
of charge, but in each case this must be verified by the
assistant or his or her clerk. |
